ShipSplit Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 10, 2026
ShipSplit (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a Shopify app that helps merchants run A/B tests on their shipping options. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. We collect only what is needed to operate the App and never sell your data.
1. Who we are
The App is operated by Tony Cheung. For any privacy question, contact us at lozgwl@gmail.com.
2. Data we access and store
- Store information — your myshopify.com domain and the access token Shopify issues when you install the App. Used to operate the App on your store.
- Experiment data — for each shopping cart that enters an experiment we store a cart token, the variant it was assigned, and (best-effort) the visitor’s country code. This keeps each shopper on a consistent shipping option and lets us split traffic.
- Order metadata — when a tracked order is placed, we receive an order identifier, the order total, and the destination country code via Shopify’s order webhook. This is used solely to measure conversion rate, revenue, and per-country results. We do not store customer names, emails, addresses, or payment details.
- Account contact — your store owner email address, used only to send the optional weekly email report if you enable it.
3. How we use data
- Run shipping A/B experiments and keep variant assignment consistent.
- Compute dashboard metrics (conversion, AOV, revenue, net profit, statistical confidence) and per-country breakdowns.
- Send the optional weekly summary email, only if enabled.
- Operate, secure, and support the App.
We do not use your data for advertising and we never sell it.
4. Sub-processors we share data with
- Shopify — the platform the App runs on; data is read from and written to your store via Shopify’s APIs.
- Resend — email delivery provider, used only to send the weekly report if you enable it (receives the recipient email and the report contents).
- Our hosting provider — runs the App’s servers and database.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep experiment and order-metadata data while the App is installed. When you uninstall, Shopify sends a shop redaction request and we delete your store’s data within 48 hours. We also honor customer redaction requests forwarded by Shopify by deleting the related order records.
6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because the App runs on Shopify, data access and deletion requests are handled through Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks (customer data request, customer redaction, shop redaction). You may also email us at lozgwl@gmail.com to ask what data we hold or to request deletion.
7. Security
Access tokens and data are stored on secured infrastructure and transmitted over HTTPS. Access is limited to operating the App.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. The effective date above reflects the latest version; material changes will be communicated through the App or by email.
